Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and GrantTitan when you use the platform. They are written in plain words on purpose: if anything here is unclear, ask us at support@granttitan.com before you rely on it.

Last updated: October 17, 2026.

1. The service

GrantTitan is a two-sided platform for grants. Funders publish grants with their eligibility rules in full, collect and review applications, score and decide, send award notices, and track post-award check-ins. Nonprofits, teachers, and schools keep one verified profile, post their needs — money, materials and equipment, or volunteers — and apply to grants with their profile answers pre-filled. Funders can browse the needs board and the verified profiles on it; seekers can browse grants and read every rule before applying.

GrantTitan is in pilot. That means the service is real and operating, and it is still being built out: features may change, and some things described on this site are being added in stages. The rules in these terms apply to the service as it runs today.

2. Accounts and who may use GrantTitan

  • You must be an adult acting for yourself or for an organization you are authorized to represent. The person who creates an organization’s account is responsible for what happens under it.
  • Information on an account and profile must be accurate and kept current. A profile that misstates what an organization is — its legal identity, its tax status, its school, its place — may be corrected, limited, or closed.
  • Teachers hold accounts as members of a verified school or district. A classroom award is always paid to the school or district, or spent on the materials themselves — never as cash to a teacher personally.
  • Your organization can export its data and close its account at any time. Closing an account never costs a fee.
  • Keep your password private. GrantTitan never asks for your password by email, text, or message — anyone who does is not us.

3. Verification

Profiles on GrantTitan are verified against public records and named sources: an organization’s EIN (employer identification number) and tax-exempt status against the IRS tax-exempt organization records, profile information from Candid, school and district records, and the match between an email address and the organization it speaks for. Teachers attach to a verified school-system record through their school email.

GrantTitan may rely on those records. If a record changes — a tax-exempt status is revoked, a school record is corrected — the profile changes with it, because checks re-run on their own schedule and whenever key facts change. A fact no source confirms may be typed in by the organization, but it is labeled “Not yet verified,” and it cannot satisfy a funder’s rule that requires a verified fact. Verification is a records check, stated with its sources and dates; it is not a promise about any organization’s conduct.

4. Plans, pricing, and payment

Funders pay for GrantTitan; seekers never do. Creating a profile, verifying, posting a need, and applying are free for nonprofits, teachers, and schools, and no percentage of any award is ever taken from a recipient.

  • Per Cycle — $349 per grant round. One full grant round, from posting to final check-ins.
  • Annual — $150 per month billed annually ($1,800 per year), or $180 month-to-month. Unlimited grant rounds, for funders who grant year-round.
  • Community & Consortia. Several funds and programs under one account, priced by arrangement.
  • School districts — from $2,500 per year. One agreement covers every school and teacher in the district; final pricing is set with the district’s size.

These are pilot prices — the rates in effect during the pilot. Pilot funders keep their starting rate for the first year. If prices change later, the change applies from the next billing period, not retroactively.

Payments are processed by Stripe. GrantTitan never sees or stores your full card number, and a subscription payment buys the plan you chose for the period you chose — it does not buy applications, awards, or outcomes.

5. Paying a grant through GrantTitan

When a funder pays an award through GrantTitan, two charges are added on top of the award, both paid by the funder: a GrantTitan transaction fee of 2.5% of the award, and payment processing of 3% of the award. The recipient always receives 100% of the award — the fees are never deducted from the grant. Payments move through Stripe to the recipient organization’s own account; GrantTitan does not hold grant funds. A classroom award is paid to the school or district, as Section 2 states.

6. Acceptable use

GrantTitan works because both sides can trust the record. By using the platform you agree not to:

  • Commit fraud, or help anyone else commit it — including inventing an organization, a need, an application, or a document.
  • Run or support an advance-fee scheme: charging a seeker anything to apply, to be considered, or to release funds connected with a grant on GrantTitan. Seekers pay $0, and that rule has no exceptions.
  • Try to move communication or payment off the platform to get around the fees or the safety checks. Arrangements made through GrantTitan stay on GrantTitan, where the record protects both sides.
  • Post student information of any kind: no student names, photos of identifiable students, grades, or student records — anywhere, in any field.
  • Impersonate another organization or person, or use an account, email domain, or EIN that is not yours to use.
  • Attack, probe, or overload the platform, or use it to send spam or unlawful content.

Breaking these rules can mean a posting is removed, an account is limited or closed, and — where the law is involved — a report to the authorities.

7. Messaging

Messaging exists only inside an application, and only when the funder has turned it on for that grant. Messages are text-only — there is no way to attach a photo or a file. Every message is checked on GrantTitan’s servers before it is sent: profanity and slurs are stopped, and so is any attempt to move money or contact off the platform (a payment app, a wire transfer, an email address, a phone number, a link). A stopped message is not delivered and is not stored; the conversation shows only how many messages the checks stopped. Either side can report a conversation, and GrantTitan may review reported conversations to keep the platform safe.

8. Your content

What you post stays yours: your organization’s profile, story, needs, grant postings, applications, and documents belong to you or your organization. By posting them you give GrantTitan permission to store them, to show them to the audiences you choose (funders browsing the board, or only a funder you apply to), and to use them to run the service — for example, to pre-fill an application or to attach a document to the application you chose. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you post and for having the right to share it. A document you save is shared only with the specific application you attach it to.

9. What GrantTitan does not promise

Eligibility rules are set by each funder, and every funding decision — who is reviewed, who is awarded, how much, and when — belongs to the funder alone. GrantTitan shows the determination its checks produce against the funder’s published rules; it does not make or influence the decision behind it. GrantTitan does not guarantee that any application will be funded, that any posted need will be met, or that any grant round will reach the result its funder hoped for. An organization’s verified status describes what public records say about it — it is not an endorsement, and not a guarantee of how that organization will behave.

10. Liability, in plain terms

We work to keep GrantTitan accurate, available, and safe, and during the pilot some things will still go wrong occasionally. To the extent the law allows: GrantTitan is not liable for indirect losses — lost profits, lost funding opportunities, or losses that follow from a funder’s decision — and GrantTitan’s total liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid GrantTitan in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the platform grows. When they do, the new version is posted on this page with a new date, and changes apply from that date forward. If a change matters to a plan you already paid for, it applies from your next billing period. Continuing to use GrantTitan after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions about these terms: support@granttitan.com.

Trust, verification & security

GrantTitan’s credential is not a badge we bought — it is a record you can read. Every verified profile names the source it was checked against and the date it was checked. This is the short version; the full page explains every rule.

Verified from named sources

  • Checks run automatically against the IRS tax-exempt organization database, Candid, verified school-system records, and the organization’s email domain — and fail closed, with the plain reason, if they cannot pass.

Security, in plain words

  • Multi-factor authentication, role-based access, encryption in transit and at rest, and a full audit log of who saw what.

Money & students

  • Seekers pay $0, and no student names, photos, grades, or records appear anywhere on the platform.
Applying and verifying are always free. GrantTitan never charges a fee to release funds, and will never ask for gift cards, wire transfers, or your password by email. If someone asks you for any of those, it is not us.

On certifications, plainly: we are building our controls toward SOC 2 Type II. GrantTitan is not SOC 2 certified, and we will not claim to be until an independent audit is complete.

Proof, not promises

Advance-fee grant scams dress up in borrowed badges. GrantTitan displays no certification logos at all — only claims you can check yourself, in one click, at the source. Our seal appears only where a check has actually run — and every check names its source.

IRS records

Nonprofit status is checked against IRS Tax Exempt Organization records.

Re-check any organization at the IRS

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. GrantTitan never holds grant funds and never sees or stores card numbers.

Schools & privacy

No student names, photos, or records — anywhere, by design. We are ready to sign the National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA) with any district.

What we hold — and what we don’t

Every certification we’ve earned, and the ones still in progress, are listed on our Trust & Security page. We claim only what we hold.
