Plain-language writing on grants, giving, and getting funded — for the nonprofits who apply, the funders who decide, and the teachers and schools in between. A new article appears here every day.
Some pieces explain the rules nobody writes down: what “eligible” really means, which documents every funder asks for, how a funder checks your tax status. Others are working guides — scoring applications fairly, itemizing a classroom need, asking for donated equipment — written to be used the same morning you read them. Every fact that comes from outside GrantTitan is sourced and linked, so you can check it yourself.
Legacy grant software costs thousands a year, so small foundations run grants from an inbox. The real bill — re-typed applications, hidden funders — lands on applicants.

Trust, verification & security
GrantTitan’s credential is not a badge we bought — it is a record you can read. Every verified profile names the source it was checked against and the date it was checked. This is the short version; the full page explains every rule.
Verified from named sources
Checks run automatically against the IRS tax-exempt organization database, Candid, verified school-system records, and the organization’s email domain — and fail closed, with the plain reason, if they cannot pass.
Security, in plain words
Multi-factor authentication, role-based access, encryption in transit and at rest, and a full audit log of who saw what.
Money & students
Seekers pay $0, and no student names, photos, grades, or records appear anywhere on the platform.
Applying and verifying are always free. GrantTitan never charges a fee to release funds, and will never ask for gift cards, wire transfers, or your password by email. If someone asks you for any of those, it is not us.
On certifications, plainly: we are building our controls toward SOC 2 Type II. GrantTitan is not SOC 2 certified, and we will not claim to be until an independent audit is complete.
Read the full Trust & Security page — how verification works, who can see your information, the education-privacy rules, and how to tell the real GrantTitan from a copy.

Proof, not promises
Advance-fee grant scams dress up in borrowed badges. GrantTitan displays no certification logos at all — only claims you can check yourself, in one click, at the source. Our seal appears only where a check has actually run — and every check names its source.
IRS records
Nonprofit status is checked against IRS Tax Exempt Organization records.
